Abstract
The contemporary concept of sexual counseling for women with sexual problems, distress, and female sexual dysfunction (FSD) includes tailored medical and/or psychological intervention. The dual control model and the Sexual Excitation/Sexual Inhibition Inventory for Women (SESII-W) are helpful for identifying risk factors and tailoring therapy for FSD. The current study aimed to (1) validate the Polish translation of the SESII-W in a sample of Polish women, and (2) verify the usefulness of the SESII-W in clinical practice. Five hundred nine white women age 18 to 55 years old (M ± SD age = 39.7 ± 11.3 years) were included in this cross-sectional study. Linguistic validation of the Polish translation of the SESII-W was first performed. A battery of tests was then used to evaluate reliability, convergent and discriminant validity, measurement invariances, and correlations between the SESII-W and other measures. Given that the original version of the SESII-W had unsatisfactory model fit, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were subsequently performed. Results showed a new final model that included 26 items with seven lower- and two higher-order factors and explained 58.9% of the variance in the data, with CFI = 0.93, RMSEA = 0.05 and ? 2 = , p < 0.001.>

Introduction
How come to interact or otherwise not in the kind of sexual behaviors was managed on various other membership. Among systems you to definitely regulate sexual response is predicated on dual-control design (DCM) idea. The basis of your own DCM idea was demonstrated by Jansen and you can Bancroft inside the 1999, which postulated the presence of two expertise–inhibitory and you will excitatory . At characteristic top, the fresh inhibitory and you will excitatory sexual options try independent, however, on condition peak, it collectively reasonable decisions. Each other systems play a role in controlling sexual focus, whereby a premier inclination to own sexual suppression can serve as a significant cause of new etiology away from sexual dysfunctions and a high propensity to possess sexual excitation could lead to engaging in risky sexual practices (RSB) [1–3].
The newest inhibition and excitation sexual expertise should be considered regarding the broader perspective of Gray’s theory off behavioural inhibition and you will excitation assistance you to connect to dopaminergic and you can serotoninergic routes about brain, especially in the fresh limbic system . Previous training suggest that sexual inhibition and excitation is, about partly, in addition to the standard behavioral handle program on head. Also, character traits discussed of the Eysenck, plus extraversion (we.e., positive emotionality), neuroticism (we.elizabeth., negative emotionality), and you will psychoticism (i.age., constraint) with the dimension from anxiety and you may impulsivity, you are going to contribute to the activation/inhibition system, in addition to for the amount of sexual handle. Sexual excitation/suppression will also be present in the fresh broader notion of exposure avoidance/exposure getting, when passion regarding suppression experience highest and you will low, correspondingly. DCM also assumes on that the individual tendency for sexual suppression/excitation leads to possibly interesting otherwise restricting off uncommitted and you will several sexual dating, sexual chance delivering, as well as other designs as a result so you can sexual cues (we.age., disgust against. enjoyment and enjoyment) [step 3,5].
